About nowwhere

Utopia literally means "no place." The Greek is ou-topos — the good place that doesn't exist. For most of history that was where the future of living stayed: nowhere.

Then people started building it anyway. A two-month city in Montenegro that ended on purpose. A longevity village on a Honduran island with its own rules. Coliving neighborhoods connected into a network city. Schools for founding societies. The future stopped being nowhere — it became now, here, for a few weeks or forever, wherever people gathered to try.

nowwhere is the map of those places. Pop-up cities, coliving networks, new societies — what they are, where they are, when they happen, and how to show up.

The question

Every one of these places ends, moves, or graduates. Everyone who has lived in one knows the feeling on the last day: now where? That question is the site. The listings are the answer.
